TAJ MAHAL one of the seven wonders of the world was built by grief stricken Emperor Shahjahan symbolizing eternal love for his beloved wife Arjumand Bano Begum entitled as Mumtaz Mahal .
Taj Mahal looks same from all the four sides . The Quranic inscriptions on its four entrances are carved in such subtle increase in size that words appear to be of the same size from top to bottom .
Shahjahan invited master craftmen from the places like italy and persia to help his ambitious tribute to love .
The Taj Mahal is phenomenal not in the beauty alone that shines forth ,but in the deep planning and the design that went into making and the ethereal idea of immortalizing the love.
This enchanting mausoleum laid in 1½ acres of geometric gardens and waterways, which took 22 years (1631-1652 A.D) to complete the whole premises with the help of an estimated 20000 workers., is the crowning glory of Mughal architecture in India.

No enrty fee for children below 15 years (Both indian and foreingers )

Visting time : Taj Mahal & other monuments from sunrise to sunset .

Night viewing of taj mahal is available on five days in a month ie On full moon light and two nights before and two nights after the full moon.
Tickets for night viewing of taj mahal are available 24hrs in advance (one day before the viewing dates ) between 10:00 am to 6:00pm at archaeological survey of India ( A.S.I) 22,Mall road ,Agra.

Timings : 20:30 hrs to 00.30 hrs in 8 batches of maximum 50 person each .Time duration for each batch is 30 minutes .
Guest have to reach at shilpgram half an hour before the scheduled time mentioned on their tickets for security check .

Night viewing of the taj mahal is closed on every friday and in the month of Ramzan.
